Impact, Overview, Fees and Action Required

Impact Statement: Existing certifications of Conduit, Tubing, and Cable Fittings will be allowed to continue to be certified after July 14, 2014 and not be withdrawn provided there are no changes to the fittings that require certification decision or until a new/revised requirement is determined as “Action Required” to require a file review in the future.

After July 14, 2014, changes to a certified fitting/s that require a certification decision will require that the fitting/s be evaluated in its/their entirety to the most updated requirements of UL514B.

After July 14, 2014, new certifications will be allowed to be evaluated to the most updated requirements of UL514B.

7.18.2 New marking requirement for a FITTING for metal-clad cable, Type ACG90 and Type ACGWU90 cable as described in Clause 5.4.4.1, the carton shall be marked "Armored Cable BUSHING Required on _____" or equivalent wording. The blank shall be filled in with "Metal-Clad Cable" or "Type ACG90 Cable" or "Type ACGWU90 Cable".

3.29, 5.4.4.1, 5.4.7.1, 7.18, 7.18.2 Transition couplings are intended for connection of one or more metal sheathed cables or flexible metal conduits to one or more non-flexible metallic raceways. Requirements for couplings are detailed in UL Standard for Conduit, Tubing, and Cable Fittings, UL 514B, and compliance needs to be confirmed and reports updated. 
6.1.3 A fitting for cable must have an end stop or throat of an appropriate size to allow passage of cable conductors. The conductors of the largest and smallest cable size will be evaluated. This revision is to address concerns expressed that the conductors of the cable will not fit through the fitting end stop or throat when assembled in the field 
6.3.1 Transition couplings are intended for connection of one or more metal sheathed cables or flexible metal conduits to one or more non-flexible metallic raceways. Requirements for couplings are detailed in the UL Standard for Conduit, Tubing, and Cable Fittings, UL 514B, and compliance needs to be confirmed and reports updated.
