Impact, Overview, Fees and Action Required

Impact Statement: A review of all Listing Reports is necessary to determine which products comply with new/revised requirements and which products will require re-evaluation. NOTE: Effective immediately, this revised standard will be exclusively used for evaluation of new products unless the Applicant requests in writing that current requirements be used along with their understanding that their listings will be withdrawn on Effective Date noted above, unless the product is found to comply with new/revised requirements.

Overview of Changes:

New oral hygiene appliances, oral hygiene appliances currently certified to standard CAN/CSA-E60335-2-52, and dental irrigators currently certified to standard CSA C22.2 No. 68 are required to comply with the requirements of CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60335-2-52:14.

CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60335-2-52:14 replaces CAN/CSA-E60335-2-52 (adopted IEC 335-2-52:1994), published in 2001, and replaces the requirements for dental irrigators in CSA C22.2 No. 68

The standard CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60335-2-52:14 is intended to be used in conjunction with CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60335-1-11, Safety of Household and Similar Appliances — Part 1: General Requirements.

If the applicable requirements noted in the table are not described in your report(s), these requirements will need to be confirmed as met and added to your report(s) such as markings, instructions, test results, etc. (as required).
