Intertek leads as the first International Certification Body accredited to offer certification services for Private Security Company Operations

Boxborough, MA – Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, today announced the company is the first international certification body accredited to provide certification services for Private Security Company (PSC) Operations against the ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 standard. This certification enables PSC organizations operating in complex environments to offer assurance to both internal and external stakeholders that they can effectively manage their safety, security and legal obligations in compliance with industry best practices for building resilience, proactive risk management, and respect to human rights.
To receive this accreditation Intertek underwent a series of audits by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) Pilot Program, including an audit performed in Iraq in a very demanding environment. The audit was focused on the practical implementation of the ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 requirements related to Human Rights and addressed in the Human Rights Policy and procedures of the Olive Group covering processes such as personnel selection, screening and vetting, training and awareness, incident management and security functions performance.

In September 2010, Olive Group was a founder signatory to the ICoC and introduced the provisions of the Code into its operations which helped underpin its compliance with the PSC.1 Standard. In September 2013, Olive Group also signed up to the International Code of Conduct Association (ICoCA) that aims to become an international accountability mechanism to oversee sector compliance with ICoC.
