Intertek Group plc (Intertek), the leading provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries around the world announces the appointment of Louise Makin and Lena Wilson as Non-Executive Directors of Intertek Group plc. These appointments are with effect from 1 July 2012.

Louise Makin is currently Chief Executive Officer of BTG plc, a growing international specialist healthcare company, a position she has held since 2004 and is a non-executive director of Premier Foods plc. From 2001, Louise became President of the Biopharmaceuticals division of Baxter Healthcare, where she was responsible for Europe, Africa and the Middle East after joining Baxter Healthcare in 2000 as Vice President, Strategy & Business Development Europe. Before joining Baxter, she was Director of Global Ceramics at English China Clay and prior to that she held a variety of roles at ICI between 1985 and 1998. Louise has an MBA, and holds an MA in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge. Louise was appointed a Trustee of The Outward Bound Trust in December 2011.

Lena Wilson is currently Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Enterprise, Scotland’s national economic development agency and a member of Scotland's Financial Services Advisory Board. Prior to this she was Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Development International (Scotland’s international trade and investment arm) and Chief Operating Officer, Scottish Enterprise. Between 1998 and 2000, Lena was a Senior Advisor to The World Bank in Washington DC on private sector development for developing countries. Lena has an MBA and BA in Public Administration and is a member of the University of Strathclyde’s Business Advisory Board, and an Ambassador for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. She has served on the Board of the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust for ten years as well as numerous arts, culture and sport organisations.

Under paragraph LR 9.6.13 R of the UK Listing Rules, the Company is not required to make any further disclosures in respect of Louise Makin and Lena Wilson.
