Intertek expands South American services with acquisition of Chile laboratory testing company

SANTIAGO – Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to a wide range of industries worldwide, has acquired Labs & Testing Chile S.A. (L&T). The addition of L&T's expertise and capabilities expands and complements existing Intertek services in Chile and in the Latin American region.
L&T offers laboratory testing, inspection and other technical services which support clients in a diverse range of key markets, including fishing, food & agricultural, environmental, petrochemicals, energy, minerals and more.
In-house capabilities include analytical testing, microbiology, non-destructive testing, field inspection and additional expert services.
In a joint statement, Executive Vice Presidents Jay Gutierrez (Latin America) and Stefan Butz (Industrial & Assurance) said "L&T is a welcome addition to Intertek's expanding cross-divisional capabilities in South America, providing key niche services to clients and enhancing our service offerings in an economically dynamic and growing region."
