Intertek, the leading provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries globally, is pleased to announce that Mr. Walter Jager, Director of Engineering for Intertek Health and Environmental Services, has been selected as a recipient for the prestigious IEC 1906 Award for his special work in TC 111, Environmental standardization for electrical and electronic products and systems.

The IEC 1906 Award recognizes the exceptional work of technical experts participating in IEC technical committees and special projects, drawing attention to their contribution to international standardization. The recipient is further identified for making significant contributions to the global electrical and electronic product industry.

Mr. Jager has worked extensively in the development of international electronics standards and is chairman of the Canadian Committee for IEC TC111. He contributes to development of several of the international environmental standards. . His experience in these fields will be instrumental to many Intertek customers. International standards are invaluable to electronics producers and suppliers for smooth International trade, industry alignment, including effective communication through a global supply chain. Organizations align with International Standards to maximize the value and long-term compatibility of internal business processes.

As Director of Engineering for Intertek’s Health and Environmental Services, Mr. Jager is responsible for leading technical strategy definition and execution as well as playing a key role in directing future research across all service portfolios. He also works closely with the operations and program management teams on customer-site deployment, R&D, and industry standards.

Mr. Jager holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia and the University of Waterloo, respectively, as well as an MBA from the University of Ottawa.
