Process for testing once and guarding against the future

Intertek (www.intertek.com), the leading provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries, will present a free one-hour online webinar on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. EDT providing information on Intertek’s REACH SVHC Testing services, which provides a level of future proofing of products against new SVHC substances.

Article 33 of the REACH Regulation requires companies to communicate the presence of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) to their customers if present in an article in a concentration over 0.1% by weight. There are currently fifteen (15) SVHC chemicals identified by the EU requirements.

The critical concern to most companies is that the process for the EU to add new substances to the list of SVHCs can be as quick as three (3) to four (4) months. How can a company safeguard their products if their SVHC test results can be out of date within three (3) months of testing?

Intertek has a revolutionary SVHC testing process that provides quality and confidence for current and future SVHC requirements. Instead of simply testing for the fifteen (15) current SVHCs substances, Intertek provides a broader approach including more comprehensive testing scans, calibration, and data storage. This ‘wide scan and storage’ approach provides more extensive data that can be reviewed in the future for new SVHC chemicals without the cost and expense of destroying and testing another sample.

Join us on May 20, 2009 at 10 a.m. EDT for a free 1 hour webinar reviewing Intertek’s SVHC testing approach for protection against future SVHC chemicals.
