Intertek Announces Partnership with iBiquity Digital Corporation for HD Radio™ Receiver Certification

Intertek (LSE: ITRK), a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a range of industries worldwide, announces their partnership with iBiquity Digital Corporation for the testing and certification of HD Radio receivers. HD Radio technology, developed by iBiquity, enables AM and FM radio stations to broadcast their programs digitally – a significant technological advance over analog broadcasts of the past. More than 1,800 HD Radio stations in the United States offer crystal-clear audio – AM sounds like traditional FM, FM approaches CD quality – as well as advanced data services and additional FM channels, called multicasts, all subscription free. Over 100 different HD Radio receivers are available: from table top receivers and stereo component systems to and in-dash automotive and marine radios. And the technology is increasingly available as a factory-installed feature on many automotive lines.
The HD Radio receiver certification program requirements were developed by iBiquity. For the HD Radio program Intertek serves as the third-party, independent testing laboratory that evaluates manufacturers’ products to the iBiquity requirements. The goal of the certification program is to provide a reference platform to ensure all products using HD Radio technology meet the high-performance requirements deemed necessary by iBiquity.
Intertek provides tailor-made testing and certification services for manufacturers of HD Radio receivers, through a network of international testing locations, including:

- Special protocol testing
HD Radio receiver certification with FCC and ETL product safety testing and certification packages
