The Pre-Registration period under the EU’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) regulation began June 1, 2008, but ends on November 30, 2008 giving companies a limited window of opportunity to submit the requisite pre-registration information for chemical substances. Failing to provide data means that a business can not delay registration and faces the risk of being unable to sell within the EU.

Intertek’s REACH pre-registration services can be applied as a complete solution or in a stepwise manner. Intertek’s standard REACH process begins with the definition of responsibilities for REACH on a company-wide level and for each substance under the scope. Intertek will help companies collect and organize all of the required data, create the necessary pre-registration information packages for substances, and can submit the pre-registration packages to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA.) Intertek’s REACH services help ensure companies understand their REACH responsibilities and see no disruption to European sales.

Intertek’s Only Representative service enables companies located outside the European Union to participate in and complete the pre-registration process for REACH. The service provides the necessary legal presence and representation in the EU, including representation to the European Chemical Agency; technical management of REACH process; and submission of information to the EU to fulfill a company’s REACH obligations.
