Intertek (www.intertek.com) will present two free one-hour online webinars on July 29, 2008 at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm EDT to review the rules and options for using Only Representatives to manage the REACH compliance of a global supply chain. With the complexities presented in global supply and distribution, the path to compliance with the EU’s Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation for both EU and non-EU companies is not always obvious. Intertek offers a webinar to review the options for handling REACH responsibilities throughout global supply chains.

Your supplier says they will handle REACH compliance, and will pre-register. Will this look after all your REACH responsibilities? Are they even allowed to shoulder the REACH responsibilities and complete the registration? And, if they are allowed, what do you need to show to the EU to prove that your products are REACH-compliant?

There are rules and requirements surrounding the issue of who can take responsibility for REACH. The EU’s REACH Regulation has provisions to handle REACH compliance through a multi-stage supply chain by using Only Representatives and a notification process. However, these processes have mandatory requirements such as:

  • Legal restrictions on who can appoint the Only Representatives
  • Requirements to notify down-stream users and importers
  • Data management requirements for Only Representatives of substances in preparations
  • For non-EU companies, Only Representation is a useful tool to manage REACH compliance in a complex supply chain, but manufacturers must be aware of the rules and limits associated with the use of Only Representatives.

Join us on July 29th at 9 am EDT or 2 pm EDT for a free 1 hour webinar reviewing REACH responsibilities and Only Representative requirements as they apply to the complexity of a global supply chain.
