Intertek to host webinar on often overlooked materials restrictions and requirements for product packaging and batteries

Intertek (www.intertek.com) is pleased to present a free one-hour online webinar set to address materials restrictions, requirements and end-of-life obligations for packaging and batteries related to electronic products sold in the EU. Certainly the electronics community is aware of the RoHS and WEEE restrictions directly related to their products, but the restrictions and responsibilities imposed by the EU on by-products such as packaging and batteries are often overlooked. This omission may result in dire consequences for the offender including fines and stop-shipment notices.
The webinar “What do you mean, my product’s PACKAGING is non-compliant?” will be held June 17, 2008 at 2:00 pm EDT and will cover the key compliance requirements of the EU’s Packaging Directive (94/62/EC) and Battery Directive (2006/66/EC), materials restrictions, recycling options, reporting requirements, and business strategies.
