Intertek (www.intertek.com) is pleased to present a free one-hour online webinar on June 4, 2008 at 2:00 pm EDT to review the unique material declaration and testing requirements related to the EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation's requirements for Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).

Article 33(1) of the REACH Regulation states that manufacturers and importers of articles (products) are required to notify their customers of the presence of any Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in their products exceeding 0.1% by weight. In response, many industries, and in particular the telecommunications, automotive, and aerospace industries, have been sending SVHC declaration questionnaires and related demands to their suppliers. REACH SVHC declarations are different from those related to other restricted materials legislation, such as RoHS and Proposition 65, and require a different approach to product declaration and testing.

Join us on June 4th at 2 pm EDT for a free 1 hour webinar reviewing general SVHC declaration requirements for REACH, substances expected to be included in the candidate list, expected SVHC chemicals commonly found in electronic and consumer products, and standard industry approaches for SVHC compliance.
