21 Feb 2017

Ontario, Canada - Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to industries worldwide and Health, Environmental and Regulatory Services (HERS) will be speaking and exhibiting at GlobalChem 2017 from February 22-24, 2017, in Washington, DC.

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is high on the priority list for many companies in North America. With the upcoming REACH deadline on May 31, 2018 quickly approaching, Intertek is able to offer a single-source solution to address your specific needs and address the many challenges already identified.  Intertek’s Chemicals Group can provide element-specific support for any stage of REACH registration including: pre-registration, SIEF participation, communication with supply chain actors, exposure scenarios, risk assessments, technical dossier preparation, Chemical Safety Assessments (CSA), Chemical Safety Reports (CSR), REACH testing, and registration submission, or complete project management of all REACH requirements for either a chemical or a company.  Ms. Joyce Borkhoff, Senior Director, Chemicals Group states, “By working with us now, we will be able to assist you with the management of registrations in the required timeframe, including timely completion of required testing; help you avoid compromises to meet compliance; and allow enough time for reworking your dossiers following submissions with updates.”

During the event, Intertek experts are also available to discuss the U.S. Toxics Substances Control Act (TSCA) as amended by the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (LCSA) on June 22, 2016. While sections are still under construction, changes have been implemented. Intertek can help unravel the current situation with filing PMNs, substantiating CBI, making sure you are ready for the Inventory Reset and many other activities.

Intertek experts Ms. Joyce Borkhoff, Dr. Rose Passarella, and Ms. Inez Kasimba will be exhibiting at Booth #9 and will be able guide you along the notification/registration pathway for EU REACH, US TSCA/LCSA, Canada NSNR, Australia NICNAS and support the submissions required for market access to China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines and other jurisdictions around the globe.

Additionally, Dr. Rose Passarella will be speaking in the session “Chemical Management Issues in the Value Chain” on Thursday, February 23 at 10:30 am-11:45 am during the GlobalChem Conference & Expo. During this session, Rose will discuss Supply Chain Activities Needed for Reformed TSCA (LCSA) and touching on what can we anticipate and what should we be doing now to prepare.
