The following is a compiled list of FAQs surrounding Intertek’s announcement to acquire Architectural Testing, Inc. (ATI)

What announcement about the merger was made?
In December of 2013, it was announced that Intertek had purchased ATI (read the press release here).  The company was purchased from the private equity firm, Wafra Partners and ATI’s management shareholders.  ATI was founded in 1975, employs over 300 personnel across 20 North American locations, and is headquartered in York, PA.

What does the acquisition mean to me?
For two companies dedicated to customer service and industry partnership, the acquisition will only elevate the already superior customer experience.  Intertek’s global footprint, industry leading certification services, and customer delivery model will provide customers faster access to more global markets, and ATI’s expanded capabilities, customer focus, and building science expertise will deliver customers a broader array of services and an elevated customer experience.

What changes can I expect to see immediately?
Customers will not see any immediate changes because of the acquisition.  Current projects will not be affected and future/planned projects should continue to go through existing channels.  We will continue to provide our collective customer base with communication on the changes they will see over time.  In the meantime, our customers’ business, projects, and satisfaction remain our number one priority during this transition.

How does this affect any of my open projects?
During this time, both Intertek and ATI are committed to providing the same superior service that you have come to expect.   All open projects will continue forward without disruption and through the same channels and contacts as before.

Who do I contact for new projects?
As we transition, few changes will happen immediately and until further notice, we will continue to operate as two separate entities leveraging synergies when and where we can.  Therefore, until otherwise noted, for future projects continue to work with your existing contact at either ATI or Intertek.  If opportunities arise within projects to leverage ATI or Intertek, your account manager or project coordinator will discuss the options with you before any decisions are made and actions are taken.

Will my billing change?
Not yet.  You will not see any changes to your existing billing.  Until otherwise noted, please continue to pay through your existing channels and in the same timeframe.

Where do I go if I have further questions?
You can reach out to your current contacts at either ATI or Intertek or you can contact our Inquiry Center at icenter@intertek.com or by calling 800.WORLD.LAB and they will direct your question to the right person.
