Due to year on year success and business growth, Intertek Melbourn is recruiting additional analytical scientists to join our cGMP labs, just south of Cambridge.  We are looking for motivated and talented scientists at all levels of experience from analytical chemist to team leader to join our team on a permanent basis and fulfil the following responsibilities:

Provide full analytical testing support for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products in accordance with cGMP to successfully meet client milestones

Undertake quantitative measurement of pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations supporting product development, batch certification and stability testing

Communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction

Plan, schedule and carry out work for successful project completion

Accurately document and report all analytical activities and results, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance

Physical/ chemical testing

      > Particle/Droplet Sizing and Particulate Characterisation

      > Microscopy

      > Powder Rheometry

Using equipment such as Sypmatec and Malvern Spraytec to measure spray droplet and spray particle size distribution.


Desired skills and experience

Educated to a Higher Education Level in a relevant area, i.e chemistry

General analytical chemistry knowledge including techniques such as HPLC, UHPLC

Preferably 1-2 years’ experience working within a cGMP Lab

Experience of testing inhalation products such as Pressurized Metered-Dose  Inhalers (pMDIs), Dry Powder Inhalers (DPIs) and Nebulisers would be advantageous

Experience of particle size analysis, Malvern, Sympatec, rheology and microscope would be an advantage.

Ability to write study protocols and reports with minimum supervision

Good IT literacy skills

Intertek Melbourn operates on a standard 37.5 hour week. Shifts and overtime are offered subject to project work requirements. The successful candidate can look forward to an exciting and varied career with a leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO), competitive salary and pension scheme.
