Saudi Arabia Conformity Assessment Programme – Changes to Certification Process Introduced by Saudi Authorities

A number of procedural changes have been made to the Saudi Arabia Conformity Assessment Programme recently, which are effective immediately. The major changes are the certification process for products that have been identified by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) authorities as high risk, and the revision of the Shipment Certification Fee. These changes have been mandated by KSA authorities, namely the Saudi Customs and Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).

Saudi Customs and SASO have instructed all the approved Certification and Inspection Bodies, including Intertek, to apply the new certification process effective from January 1, 2014.
