Intertek France Lab Achieves Accreditation for Food Contact Testing

As of 1 December 2013, Intertek’s France laboratory has been accredited by the French Accreditation Committee COFRAC* in the field of food contact testing.

These extensions include cookware, plastic and ceramic items such as bowls, plates, glasses, cutlery, etc.

Intertek is accredited for testing under the following standards:

  • NF EN 1186-1 : Plastics in contact with foodstuffs - Guide to the selection of conditions and test methods for overall migration
  • NF EN 1186-3 : Plastics in contact with foodstuffs - Test method for overall migration into aqueous simulants by total immersion
  • NF EN 1186-9 : Plastics in contact with foodstuffs - Test method for overall migration into aqueous simulants by filling
  • Directive 84/500/EEC amended Ceramic Objects - Test method for the determination of lead and cadmium
