The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) recently put into effect a new technical regulation, SASO 2870/2015, which covers energy efficiency, functionality, and labeling requirements for lighting products. Intertek is the first accredited laboratory for SASO 2870/2015 and offers comprehensive solutions for SASO regulatory compliance.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a final rule to amend the test procedures for ceiling fans. Under this rule, a number of ceiling fan types sold in the US must be re-tested and re-rated for fan efficiency. Part of the DOE’s Energy Conservation Program, this rule will establish an Integrated Efficiency Metric, as well as new test methods for a wide variety of ceiling fans.
Intertek Brings Product Safety Expertise to ICPHSO Annual Meeting and Training Symposium
In February, Intertek participated in and sponsored the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization’s (ICPHSO) 2017 Annual Meeting & Training Symposium, in Orlando, Florida. ICPHSO’s Annual Symposium provides an opportunity for more than 600 safety professionals to come together to hear timely and relevant information on the safety of consumer products worldwide. This year’s theme was “Evaluating and Managing Risk in Product Safety.” Intertek experts participated in panel discussions relating to risk management and toy safety standards to share their expertise.
Intertek Exhibits at America International Toy Fair 2017
Recently, Intertek was one of more than 1,110 exhibitors to participate in the North American International Toy Fair at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Organized by the U.S. Toy Industry Association (TIA), Toy Fair is the Western Hemisphere’s largest toy show, providing the opportunity for play professionals and attendees to see hundreds of thousands of innovative new toys and games before they hit store shelves. Intertek experts were on hand to provide their expertise in testing, regulations, quality and performance standards, compliance strategies, chemical limits, and safety for toys and children’s products.
