Verizon Wireless VZAppZone Compliance Testing

Intertek offers VZAppZone compliance testing, helping you verify that third-party mobile applications comply with stated Verizon Wireless quality and network requirements.

We can start testing your application immediately and will have the results ready for you within five business days.

Get VZAppZone certification on your first pass with compliance testing from Intertek. Intertek’s pre-test program is your speed pass to certification. Restarting the certification process delays your time to market and has a costly impact on your bottom line.

Benefits of working with Intertek

  • Expertise: The exclusive Test Lab for the Formal AppZone Program
  • Speed: Pre-testing shortens your time to market
  • Resources: Tools and staff standing by
  • Fast Results: Within five business days, usually sooner

New VZAppZone applications are required to pass a suite of tests, including:

  • No Harm to Network (NHtN)
  • Over-the-Air (OTA)
  • Functionality Tests

The program compliance requirements are geared towards verifying that the mobile application's transmissions do not jeopardize the stability of the Verizon Wireless network and that the application is functionally sound. Some of these tests must be paid for by the application developer, while others will be paid for by Verizon Wireless. The test requirements and plans are available for download, and it is strongly recommended that developers perform pre-testing using the supplied criteria. Test results are submitted to Verizon Wireless for review and final issue determination. In the case of failures, it is the responsibility of the developer to perform bug fixes and resubmit, or to withdraw support for that application/platform/handset.

Test Information

The documents below are 'pairs' of requirements and test plans developed jointly with Verizon Wireless and Intertek. The test cases will be executed by Intertek and the results will be posted to the ZON (Verizon's developer site). You are strongly encouraged to execute these tests cases before submitting your application for VZAppZone certification.

Below are the two required supporting document templates you must submit with your application. An Application User Guide which outlines the expected functionality of the application and a Technical Specification document which outlines the network touching behavior and general information of the application.
