This is an exciting opportunity for a full time Environmental Consultant / Senior Consultant to join our dynamic team based in Aberdeen
We are seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing individual with offshore oil and gas experience to join our well-established team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will provide technical environmental support to our impressive list of oil and gas clients and help to develop and grow the Aberdeen team.
The purpose of the role is to support the delivery and development of Intertek’s key Oil and Gas Accounts and to foster relationships / win work with new clients. The role will consist of a wide range of tasks related to offshore permitting and EIA, including a part-time secondment (2-3 days per week) into the offices of a major oil and gas client. The chance to work on a broader range of offshore projects, including marine interconnector projects, will also be available.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake business development tasks, including meeting new and existing clients and managing tenders. The team specialises in environmental permitting, EIA / SEA and environmental engineering studies for marine industries (eg, oil and gas, marine renewables and offshore cables). The role will consist of a mix of office-based and client facing activities, involving occasional unconventional working hours dependent on project and business needs.
Required skills and experience
The successful applicant will have:-
•A degree in a relevant science, engineering or environmental subject ideally including a marine aspect
•Excellent knowledge of offshore environmental UK legislation including OPPC and OCR
•Demonstrable experience in offshore oil & gas projects
•Project Management experience on small to medium projects
•Experience of writing EIAs / SEAs for offshore oil & gas projects
•Client relationship building
•High level of numeracy
•Excellent written and verbal use of the English language, including report writing
