Intertek’s Exploration & Production team work closely with major clients throughout the oil & gas industry, understanding their Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification needs and delivering outstanding service. From our state-of-the art facilities at Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, we carry out analysis such as scale and deposit investigation, analysis of hydrocarbon compositions in live fluids, crude oil assay and the selection and optimisation of production chemicals.
We currently have a requirement for a Laboratory Analyst. The role involves analysis of weekly composite samples of crude, condensates and NGL’s to determine levels of various contaminants and quality of products to assist in the valuation. Samples are analysed using various techniques such as Karl Fischer, Density, NIR, and Physical Distillation.
Typical duties include:
•To carry out testing on submitted samples, by agreed methodology, with the minimum of supervision.
•Perform effective and accurate analysis independently in accordance with official procedures.
•Maintain accurate records of observations, calculations and calibrations.
•Assist supervisory colleagues with the collation of sample analysis results and preparation of final reports
This role would suit a recent school or college leaver as an entry level role to the analytical chemistry services provided to the oil and gas industry. You will ideally have some experience of laboratory techniques and practices. Candidates with demonstrable experience in the techniques listed above would be favoured.
