If you answered yes to all of the above we want to hear from you as we have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician (Metallurgy) to join our dynamic team based in Inchinnan on a temporary contract for 6 months.

Job Responsibilities

Intertek Inchinnan provides metallurgy services to a major aerospace engineering company. 

This position will provide support to a major aerospace engineering company in preparation and assessment of metallurgical samples.  The customer requires support for an initial 6-month period. 

The position will involve; but is not limited to:

Macro and micro sectioning of nickel and titanium alloys.

Mounting and metallographic preparation.

Optical microscopy and assessment.

Maintaining consumable stocks and ensuring the laboratory housekeeping is maintained to an exceptional standard

Verifying and communicating results obtained, and to make appropriate entries in the required records, and report results to customer. 

Receive and log in samples for testing. 

Job Qualifications

Required skills and experience

Good IT literacy skills (MS Word and Excel

Engineering Qualification (metallurgy/materials science or engineering related) or relevant experience in an industrial laboratory environment.

Proven problem solving skills, analytical approach, with good numeracy and literacy skills
