Job Responsibilities

We are a busy commercial food microbiology lab and are looking for a Team Leader to join our site management team. 

We are looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic Team Leader, ideally with knowledge of food testing in compliance with ISO17025. You will work with a team of up to 12 people, overseeing and assuring the quality, speed, efficiency and accuracy of their work. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of sample preparation and test set up as well as maintaining a high standard of GLP and housekeeping.

Additional information

The shift pattern for this role is ‘four days on-four days’ off with the total working hours averaging 37.5 per week. Some additional overtime may be necessary during busy periods.

Job Qualifications

Required skills and experience

Good IT literacy skills

Previous experience of working in a food microbiology lab would be preferred, but is not essential.

Experience of auditing and operating proficiency scheme schedules would also be viewed favourably.

If you are not already in a testing environment then experience of supervising complex processes to high quality standards in an FMCG environment is essential.

Staff Training

Staff attendance management and compliance with standards

Supervising a manufacturing/ test set up process and understanding the use of and need for various measurement tools/KPI’s to effectively do this
