Description of New/Revised Technical Requirements
ClauseVerdictComment

1.10.9InfoDelete clause which prohibited the use of a gauze like burner.
4.6.10InfoAmend existing clause to now allow gas conveying components located in a negative pressure zone to be constructed of material with a melting point less than 1000 degrees F.
4.25.b xi Add new clause containing a boxed warning pertaining to horizontally vented furnaces which must be added to the appliance user’s manual.
5.8.1InfoAmend clause to clarify that when performing the increased rate combustion test it is not permissible to increase the induced or forced draft fan in order to obtain the increased firing rate. The intent of the overfired combustion test is to simulate an overly rich air/fuel mixture. Increasing the fan speed introduces additional air and defeats the intent of this test.

Currently Certified products will not require retesting as this test method has always been employed by CSA.
5.21 Introduce a new blocked air inlet test required for appliance which use premix burners.

Currently Certified appliances incorporating a premix style main burner must be resubmitted for evaluation.
13.3 Include French translations for required instructions and markings
