Impact Statement: A review of all Listing Reports is necessary to determine which products comply with new/revised requirements and which products will require re-evaluation. NOTE: Effective immediately, this revised standard will be exclusively used for evaluation of new products unless the Applicant requests in writing that current requirements be used along with their understanding that their listings will be withdrawn on Effective Date noted above, unless the product is found to comply with new/revised requirements.

If the applicable requirements noted in the table are not described in your report(s), these requirements will need to be confirmed as met and added to your report(s) such as markings, instructions, test results, etc. (as required).
Schedule: So that shipping of products with Listing Marks will not be interrupted, an approximate schedule has been established to ensure Listing Reports are found compliant by Effective Date:
Fees: An initial review of Listing Report (s) will be covered by a direct billing project and will be invoiced at not more than $1000 per report.

Information – To assist our Engineer with review of your Listing Reports, please submit technical information in response to the new/revised paragraphs noted in the attached or explain why these new/revised requirements do not apply to your product (s).
Current Listings Not Active? – Please immediately identify any current Listing Reports or products that are no longer active and should be removed from our records. We will do this at no charge as long as Intertek is notified in writing prior to the review of your reports.
|4.4.1, 4.4.2||The minimum glass thickness requirements for electrical enclosures and oven doors have been replaced with a glass impact test.|
|4.5.3||Now requires that the appliance be capable of being secured to at least two different supporting structures. A fastening means shall be provided to secure the appliance to either a wall, floor or a cabinet or countertop. A second fastening means shall also be provided to secure the appliance to a second construction. In the event the first fastening means is not suitable for a specific instillation, the second fastening means shall be available using the same device or a separate device.|
|4.7.3||Now requires that two separate operations (push and turn for example) are necessary to go from the pilot position to the “ON” position.|

|4.27.2||Requires the printed manual to contain new instructions regarding the anti-tip devices supplied with the product. The new text is consistent with that appearing in UL 858.|
|4.28.8||Replaces the existing ant-tip warning marking with a new one which is consistent with that appearing in UL 858. This marking may be temporary and must be located on the rear of the appliance making it visible during installation.|
|4.28.9||Requires a new permanent anti-tip marking.|
|4.28.10||Requires a new temporary anti-tip marking. This marking must be located on the front of the appliance making it visible after installation.|
|5.4.1 a, c, e, g and i||Have been revised and now evaluates only top section burners alone without interference. Previously these clauses specified that all burners be in operation when securing the sample from burners under test. When conducting the test under these sections, it was difficult to isolate the flue products from the top burners from the flue discharge from the oven flue or other sections of the appliance. Additionally, many designs are equipped with dedicated open top broiler sections or griddle sections. The previous wording in 5.4.1 required that these sections be in operation for the top burner combustion test. The revised sections of section 5.4.1 now evaluate each section of the appliance individually.|
|5.4.1b||Is expanded to require an additional combustion test under the griddle plate combustion test to require specific griddle plates that are often provided or specified by manufacturers be tested. The griddle plates may cover multiple burners of a range. The previous wording in the standard did not require that this griddle plate to be tested.|
|5.8.6||Adds a new delayed ignition test for ovens and enclosed broilers which use a pilot burner. The “Appliance Thermostat” test in previous clause 2.14 has been deleted.|
|5.16.2||The cloth ignition test is modified to clarify that all top section burners are in operation simultaneously during the test.|
|5.25.7||Has been changed to require that temperatures be measured during the entire test and not only during the last 15 minutes of the test as previously required. Appliances that incorporate thermostats that previously ramped the oven temperature down towards the end of the cleaning cycle will require retesting to ensure that the maximum permissible temperatures are not exceeded anytime during the test.|
|5.25.7||Now requires that self-clean appliances that have controls with multiple temperature settings shall undergo two addition self-clean cycles with the top section burners in operation if possible. The temperatures are measured during the entire test and not just the final 15 minutes as previously required.|
