Alexandra Lobach, Ph.D., Scientific & Regulatory Consultant, Food & Nutrition Group
Dr. Lobach is a Scientific and Regulatory Consultant within the Food and Nutrition business group at Intertek Scientific and Regulatory Consultancy Her primary areas of expertise are chemistry and toxicology in application to safety and risk assessments of food ingredients and food additives. Dr. Lobach’s strong scientific background assists her in preparing scientific and technical dossiers and regulatory submissions for food additive and novel food ingredient petitions in Canada, FEMA GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) applications, and GRAS dossiers in the United States.
Dr. Lobach received her B.Sc. in Chemistry and continued her graduate studies at McGill University, where she received her M.Sc. (App) in Biotechnology.
Dr. Lobach obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Toronto, where her graduate work in immunotoxicology focused on studying the immune mechanisms of idiosyncratic adverse drug reactions.
Dr. Lobach has published papers in peer-reviewed journals on the topics of immunotoxicology, drug safety and metabolism, and has presented her research at international scientific meetings hosted by the Society of Toxicology, the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics, and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. She is an associate member of the Society of Toxicology.
