Sanitation Testing

From food service equipment to pools and spas, Intertek can test your product to applicable ANSI/NSF standards for Sanitation compliance.

Before selling your food service or spa equipment in the United States or Canada, you must demonstrate compliance with applicable national sanitation requirements (NSF).

ETL Sanitation Mark 

As an ANSI-accredited certification body, we test your products to applicable ANSI/NSF standards. If tests demonstrate compliance, we issue our proprietary ETL Sanitation Mark allowing your products to be sold in the United States and/or Canada. The ETL Sanitation Mark indicates that the manufacturer's production site conforms to a range of compliance measures, and is subject to a periodic regimen of follow-up inspections to verify continued conformance.

NSF Standards 

We test to the following food service equipment sanitation standards: ANSI/NSF 2, ANSI/NSF 3, ANSI/NSF 4, ANSI/NSF 5, ANSI/NSF 6, ANSI/NSF 7, ANSI/NSF 8, ANSI/NSF 12, ANSI/NSF 18, ANSI/NSF 25, ANSI/NSF 51, ANSI/NSF 52, ANSI/NSF 59, ANSI/NSF 169.

We test to the following Pool, Spas, and Recreational Water Products sanitation standards: ANSI/NSF 50

Concurrent Sanitation and Safety Testing

To expedite your speed to market and increase efficiencies, you can submit products for both Sanitation and Electrical Safety testing at the same time. In addition to ANSI/NSF standards, we also test to ANSI/UL, CSA, ASTM and other electrical standards.
