Turkish Chemical Regulation Services
Intertek‘s experts can help you successfully comply with the requirements of the Turkish Chemicals Inventory and Control Legislation.
The Turkish Chemicals Inventory and Control Legislation imposed obligations on importers and manufacturers to notify the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Forestry of existing and new chemical substances, either on their own or in preparations by a March 31, 2011 deadline. After this date, manufacturers or importers who have placed on the market substances for the first time, in quantities of more than 1 tonne per year from January 1st 2010, shall submit a notification to Turkish Ministry within three months following the anniversary of the date that the substance was produced or imported for the first time.
The chemical data requirements depend on the tonnage per annum manufactured or imported into Turkey:
- 1 – 1000 tonnes per annum – only basic information such as chemical identity, uses and classification and labelling
- > 1000 tonnes per annum – substantial information required including physicochemical, toxicological, and eco-toxicological characteristics of substances
