ECHA Adds 20 More Substances to the REACH SVHC Candidate List
The ECHA has officially added twenty (20) more substances to the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) Candidate List on December 19, 2011. This brings the total now up to 73 SVHCs. As per the EU REACH Regulation, producers and importers of Articles immediately have to include these additional 20 substances in their responsibility to communicate to recipients if greater than 0.1% weight by weight. In addition, if the substances are present in the Articles in quantities of one (1) tonne or more per annum, they have formal Notification requirements to the ECHA.
