Intertek is a leading provider of LC-MS/MS bioanalytical services through Alta, which was one of the first laboratories to routinely apply triple-quad mass spectrometry to quantitative bioanalysis.

Intertek (USA) acquired Alta Analytical Laboratory in December 2006.  Intertek Pharmaceutical Services is a key component of Intertek's Analytical Services Division, bringing together a network of laboratories focused on GLP and cGMP analytical research to support all aspects of drug development.  Intertek Alta's extensive background in LC-MS/MS established this laboratory as a premier bioanalytical service provider for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical clients.  The Senior Director for the Intertek Alta LCMS laboratory based in El Dorado Hills, California, is Mike Buonarati, Ph.D.
