Intertek Analytical Sciences Group (ASG) Laboratory provides analysis and R&D support for clients in the life science and fine chemical industries.

Intertek ASG provides a broad range of advanced scientific and contract analytical research services to clients involved in the development and manufacture of pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, materials technology, fine and specialty chemicals. Intertek ASG expertise supports research into small molecule therapeutics, proteins (in particular monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins), oligonucleotides and vaccines.

Intertek ASG has core strengths in analysis for formulated products, polymers, cosmetics and specialty chemicals. The laboratory is one of the largest purpose built analytical facilities in the UK, and is renowned for method development and validation, provision of regulatory analysis services (GLP, GCP or cGMP) and problem-solving in support of R&D programs, product development and manufacturing processes.

The facility is inspected and approved by the UK Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for GLP (PDF 208KB) and GMP (PDF 2.7MB) compliance, and by the US FDA for cGMP compliance.

Intertek ASG also provides Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliant analytical services for the evaluation of clinical samples. Intertek also holds a Human Tissue Licence and is regulated and inspected by the Human Tissue Authority UK (HTA).

Intertek acquired ASG (Analytical Sciences Group) in May 2004. Founded in the 1940's, this laboratory has a rich heritage as a provider of analytical chemistry and scientific support services initially within ICI Pharmaceuticals, then Zeneca and Avecia. Intertek ASG is located in Manchester, UK.
