Derby, England – Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, will be demonstrating its expertise in non-destructive, materials and metallurgical testing and chemical analysis at the Engineering Testing Show in Derby on 28 October 2014.

Experts from Intertek’s Derby-based laboratories will showcase their testing and inspection services at the event and guest speaker Intertek’s NDT expert, Phil Morris, will present on “Non -Destructive Testing – what it is and where it’s going” at 1pm in Theatre 1. The company recently invested £200,000 in new immersion ultrasonic equipment – the ScanMaster LS-500 – for inspecting rectilinear discs. The rectilinear discs are used by industries such as aerospace and forgings, and immersion ultrasonic testing is applied to the discs to detect any flaws and irregularities.  Investment in this equipment further demonstrates Intertek’s commitment to providing customers a complete service solution using state-of-the art technology.

The Engineering Testing Show will bring together professional engineers across a wide range of disciplines and industrial sectors who share an interest in the practise of engineering testing.  The show is staged at Derby’s historic Roundhouse, the world's first and oldest surviving railway roundhouse.

Graham Tomlinson, Intertek NDT Managing Director, said, “As Intertek has laboratories based in Derby which support the engineering industry, we are delighted to be supporting this local event.

“The show provides the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how our testing expertise can help businesses with the safety, reliability and performance of their products through the detection of product or component defects and irregularities.”

Intertek’s non-destructive, materials and metallurgical testing and chemical analysis is delivered through an established network of laboratories and offices worldwide. The company supports a wide range of industries including rail, general engineering, aerospace, power generation, construction, petrochemical and, oil and gas.
