Visit Booth #5 for a demo of AppTestNow.com, KnowMyApp.org and chances to win devices

Las Vegas – Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide and one of the largest mobile application testing organizations in the world, is demonstrating the latest mobile application testing tools at the AT&T Developer Summit on January 4-6 in Las Vegas. Developers can visit Booth #5 to learn about Intertek’s new online application testing portal, AppTestNow.com, and receive a detailed demonstration of CTIA’s new site, KnowMyApp.org, which provides consumers and developers with statistics on how much data apps consume. Intertek performs all of the testing and analysis for KnowMyApp.org.

“Developers need assurance that their applications will perform to users’ expectations, on each device, each operating system and each network the app will be used on,” said Brett Parsons, Technical Development Director, Intertek. “Both AppTestNow and KnowMyApp provide developers with fast, easy access to expertise and information they need to build the quality applications users demand.”

AppTestNow.com is a full-service application testing site that lets developers quickly submit applications, select their tests or upload their own test plans, and receive results within 48 hours. AppTestNow grants developers access to Intertek’s global network of testing experts, an inventory of over 3,000 devices and a wide range of testing services; including quality assurance testing, performance testing, usability testing, functional testing, battery impact testing, certification testing and more. The site offers fixed priced testing packages as well as customizable test plans, for a simple, straight-forward, cost-effective testing experience.

CTIA-The Wireless Association® launched KnowMyApp.org to inform consumers how much data their favorite apps use. While there are tools that allow consumers to learn about app data usage after the fact, KnowMyApp.org is the first resource of its kind that gives users the ability to estimate an app’s data usage before it’s downloaded. Intertek developed the mobile app data usage benchmark testing using the AT&T Application Resource Optimizer (ARO), an open-source diagnostic tool that captures, analyzes and reports network app data usage to help developers create more efficient apps. For developers, KnowMyApp.org provides information so that when they are creating new apps, they know how to conserve their apps’ data usage and, whenever possible, minimize impact to battery life. In addition, CTIA and its participating member companies offer “best practices” for app developers to help maximize content and functionality while minimizing impact on customers’ data plans and network resources.

Developers who visit Intertek’s Booth #5 for demonstrations during the Summit can also enter to win one of several prizes, including a 15-hour block of free testing, as well as one of several smart devices pre-loaded with AT&T’s ARO tool; including a Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone, a Kindle Fire HD 8.9” tablet and an LG Thrill smartphone.
