Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, expands its global accreditations in Latin America, obtaining accreditation by Inmetro as a Product Certification Body - OCP. Now recognized by Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) to certify medical devices, Intertek provides a complete testing and certification solution for manufacturers selling product into Brazil.

This is the latest accreditation for Intertek in Brazil, where the Company currently conducts a high volume of testing for industries including agriculture, toys & hardlines, and petroleum, and employs locally more than 800 people across 15 facilities country-wide. December 14, 2012 marked Intertek’s acceptance as a Product Certification Body fully accredited to support medical device manufacturers through product certification, local reviews, and third-party inspections.

“With the addition of Inmetro Accreditation, Intertek expands its capability to provide international conformity assessment services for the medical device industry,” says Paul Moliski, Intertek’s Vice President of Accreditation & Latin America. “By offering certification in Brazil for the medical device industry, Intertek now supports entry into the largest market in Latin America."

Offering the broadest range of certification marks accepted in markets around the world, Intertek has a proven history of helping clients to succeed in new and existing markets. Intertek is working towards achieving additional accreditations through Inmetro, which would allow it to act as a Product Certification Body for the Home Appliance and IT industries.
