Training course teaches auditors how to effectively assess energy management systems
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to a wide range of industries worldwide, announced today that it is among the first organizations to offer lead auditor training courses for the new ISO 50001 energy management systems standard.
ISO 50001, released in June 2011, establishes a framework for industrial plants, commercial facilities, or entire organizations to manage energy. According to ISO (the International Organization for Standardization), the standard could influence up to 60% of the world's energy use, with broad applicability across national economic sectors.
When an organization practices good energy management, top management and employees become more aware of how energy is used, the actual cost of energy, and the methods and equipment that can be used to control and reduce energy waste.
Intertek's new five-day lead auditor course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare, plan, conduct, and report audits assessing the compliance of energy management systems with the requirements of ISO 50001:2011. A combination of presentations, discussions, and case studies will provide an interactive setting for participants to develop a full understanding of the ISO 50001 standard and build lasting auditing skills.
The course is in the process of being accredited by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA), and is expected to be one of the world's first IRCA registered ISO 50001 lead auditor courses.
"ISO 50001 Lead Auditor" is available immediately as a public on-site course. To schedule a session at your location, contact Ivan Savov at firstname.lastname@example.org.
