Lighting Safety Testing: ANSI/UL 8750
We are equipped to test your products to ANSI/UL 8750: Safety Standard for Light Emitting Diode (LED) Equipment for Use in Lighting Products.
With the push for energy efficiency and clean technologies worldwide, LEDs are being used in an increasing number of lighting products ranging from general illumination to pool lighting to electric signs. As LED technology has evolved in newer, high voltage and light output applications, potential safety concerns – including the risk of overheating, electric shock and fire – are addressed by ANSI/UL 8750.
The first-edition standard creates a global platform of safety requirements for LED lighting equipment as well as the entire supply chain of components used in lighting products employing LED technology.
What does ANSI/UL 8750 cover?
LED Equipment that is an integral part of a Luminaire includes:
- LED Drivers
- LED Controllers
- LED Arrays
- LED Modules
- LED Packages
The requirements found in UL 8750 are intended to supplement those found in existing luminaire standards, including UL 1598/CSA C22.2, UL 1573, UL 1574 and others.
