Intertek performs testing to the requirements of the ITE, California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), State Departments of Transportation, and municipal specifications or ENERGY STAR® requirements.

Intertek’s LED Traffic Signal Modules Certification Program
Intertek offers an LED Traffic Signal Modules Certification Program which incorporates the provisions called out in Section 6.3 of the ITE Specifications. Testing under this program will incorporate specifications published by ITE, state or local specifications, as applicable. The program will cover LED Traffic Signal Modules, including LED Circular Signals, Arrows, and Pedestrian Signals. Manufacturer benefits include:
- Independent, third-party test reports for all traffic signal products passing program requirements
- Products that pass the testing will receive Intertek’s ETL Verified Mark, a signal of quality and performance
- Effective differentiation of manufacturers’ products in the marketplace via third-party testing
Purchasers, specifiers, and end-users will easily identify certified LED lighting products and know that those bearing the ETL-Verified mark have been independently tested and evaluated to the latest industry standards. Cities using certified products gain peace of mind through continual quality assurance monitoring of the products without undertaking the expense of random sampling and penalty clause tracking. Reduced maintenance costs are also an added benefit.
