Notified Body and CE Marking (Europe)
In Europe, Alarm systems need to be tested in accordance with the EN54 Standard series and be compliant with the Construction Products Directive (soon to be Construction Products Regulations - CPR). Whereas historically this testing could only be undertaken by one or two bodies, recent changes to the rules mean that now any accredited Notified Body with the appropriate product scope can provide 3rd party testing and certification in support of CE marking activities - giving manufacturers an alternative to using legacy test houses.
Intertek is an accredited Notified Body under the many EU Directives including the Construction Products Directive, the Low Voltage Directive, the EMC Directive and the R&TTE Directive. This comprehensive accreditation, means we can provide full testing and certification for traditional hard wired alarms systems and wireless systems in support of a manufacturers CE Marking activities.
ETL Listed Mark (North America)
This offers manufacturers a safety certification alternative in the ETL Listed Mark that can drastically reduce your time to market. Intertek offers choice, and choice in any market means better service. In addition to full compliance testing, Intertek also offers a preliminary construction design review service to help identify construction and documentation deficiencies prior to final certification submission. This can eliminate additional costs and time delays, which leads to product launch delays and ultimately lost revenue.
In North America, we hold accreditations from OSHA, the California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) and the SCC. We currently have capability to test to nearly 40 standards, and we continue to add new capabilities to better serve our clients.
