As a Notified Body under the Construction Products Directive 89/106 EEC in Europe and OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) recognized NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) in the United States, we are able to provide testing and certification services such as EMC, electrical safety testing and fire testing on a wide range of life safety and security equipment. Intertek also conducts SIA (Security Industry Association) testing for Fire and Burglar alarms to help reduce false alarms.

CE Marking for Europe
As a Notified Body in Europe, Intertek provides full 3rd party product testing and certification for Fire and Security Products requiring independent evaluation under the Construction Products Directive (and the upcoming Construction Products Regulations - CPR). Our unique skill set of safety, EMC, Energy and performance testing enables us to provide test reports and certificates that support manufacturers' CE Marking activities and can form the basis of their Declaration of Conformity.
ETL Listed Mark for North America
Intertek certified fire and security products for North America and Canada will bear the ETL Listed Mark, an independent 3rd party safety certification mark recognized and accepted by state and local fire marshals and AHJs across North America as demonstrating conformity with relevant ANSI and UL product standards.
The International CB Scheme
As a member of the IEC CB Scheme we can also supply electrical safety reports and certificates for manufacturers seeking International product certifications via the CB Scheme to over 40 countries.
