Intertek's ETL Listed Mark is backed by responsive customer service and is recognized throughout North America by Authorities Having Jurisdiction.

Recent Updates to UL 1995

UL 1995 (CSA C22.2 No 236) is the industry accepted standard (US and Canada) for HVAC/R equipment, covering items such as heat pumps, air conditioners, chillers and air handlers.

As of July 30, 2012, changes to the 3rd edition of UL 1995 will include alignment with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Article 440-4(B). The standard will mandate that HVAC/R equipment, including control panels, motor controllers, etc. have a marked Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR). In addition, the revisions include new protection requirements for electric heaters, new clarifications surrounding cord lengths and a new requirement for using R744 (CO2) as a refrigerant.

HVAC/R equipment manufacturers may implement the SCCR marking requirement now, in advance of July 30, 2012. Some Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) currently are enforcing the SCCR requirement in accordance with the NEC regardless of the UL 1995 effective date. Don’t allow the deadline to catch you unprepared. Intertek has the capacity now to turn your project around quickly.
