Intertek provides end-to-end solutions to suppliers for Walmart's new RoHS Certification Program.

On August 19, 2009, Walmart announced Intertek as a chosen partner to provide RoHS certification for Walmart Department 15 products.

To support Walmart and your needs, Intertek has designed a cost-effective program that will assure your products are RoHS compliant. In addition, Intertek will provide support, where needed, to achieve product compliance.

Intertek RoHS Certification Process

1. Documentation Review
   • Bill of Materials, assembly drawings, material declarations, test reports, Certificates of Conformance, etc.
2. Process Audit
   • Verify manufacturing processes related to RoHS compliance
   • Identify High Risk Materials
3. Lab Testing
   • High Risk Materials that can not be verified using XRF screening are sent to an Intertek laboratory for testing to determine the maximum concentration values of the six RoHS substances [lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenylether (PBDE)]
4. Product Certification
