Valentia Lee-Brotherton, Ph.D., Director
Since joining the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Group at Intertek Scientific & Regulatory Consultancy (formerly Cantox), Dr. Valentia Lee-Brotherton has been involved in the design, implementation, and management of nonclinical testing programs. As Senior Project Manager and Director, Toxicology, she has tailored detailed product development strategies for new drugs and biopharmaceuticals for a wide range of products, including therapeutics with specialized routes of administration, small molecules, proteins and peptides, in a variety of indications, such as cancer, pain, and inflammation. Dr. Lee-Brotherton has been involved in tasks ranging from lead candidate selection to writing, preparation and review of documentation, such as nonclinical information, for regulatory submissions for a large number of projects and brings more than 13 years of experience in the provision of strategic advice, data reviews and gap analyses, toxicology issue resolution, and regulatory agency interactions. As a testament to her “team” approach in her work and collaborations, Dr. Lee-Brotherton has maintained projects and relationships with a number of pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients that have spanned over 7 years.
Dr. Lee-Brotherton obtained her B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, and then completed 3 years of training as a post-doctoral fellow at the London Regional Cancer Centre in London, Ontario, Canada, for a total of 11 years of research in toxicology and chemical carcinogenesis prior to joining Intertek Scientific & Regulatory Consultancy. Her knowledge of chemical carcinogens, drugs, toxic agents, and biotechnologicals, and her extensive experience with both in vitro and in vivo studies in drug metabolism and mechanisms of toxicity, toxicology, and tumorigenesis, continues to serve our clients well.
