Animal Feed Additives Regulatory Services
Intertek provides scientific and regulatory support to the animal feed industry for compliance with the European Union Regulation (EC) No. 1831/2003.
The European Union’s Regulation (EC) No. 1831/2003 on animal feed provides a framework for protecting the health of animals, humans, and the environment. The regulatory requirements include rules on the circulation and use of feed materials, requirements for feed hygiene, potentially hazardous substances in animal feed, regulation of genetically modified food and feed, and conditions for the use of additives in animal nutrition.
The EU Regulation (EC) No. 1831/2003 on animal feed additives, for the use of animal nutrition, sets out detailed requirements for the approval of feed additives. An application must be submitted to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for review and approval before the product can be placed on the EU market.
