Intertek provides inspection and certification services for clients importing products to Ghana, per the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA)
Intertek has been appointed by the Ghana Standards Body to provide verification and testing services to exporters worldwide, delivering Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for regulated goods meeting Ghana’s Conformity Assessment Program (G-CAP) import standards. The commencement date of G-CAP is to be confirmed.
Upon commencement shipments to Ghana will require testing and inspection to ensure they meet national and international environmental, health and safety standards.
Under the G-CAP, gaining a CoC from an approved body such as Intertek will be a compulsory requirement for importers and exporters, in order to obtain customs clearance of goods into Ghana. The G-CAP verifies the conformity of all regulated products and enforces their standards. Compliance to CAP requirements is applicable in addition to any existing import processes.
Exporters shipping to Ghana any products within the categories listed below, from any country of origin, will require a Certificate of Conformity for Customs clearance, those consignments arriving without the CoC will result in severe delays in goods clearance, penalties, or even shipments being returned.
