Registration and the Certificate of Inspection for Exports to Egypt

Intertek is approved by GOEIC to issue the mandatory Certificate of Inspection for exports of Regulated Products to Egypt

The Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade in Egypt recently issued two new decrees which come into effect fully from 16th March 2016.

• 43/2016

These Decrees introduce significant changes to the import clearance procedure and also the expansion of the list of Regulated products.

Manufacturers or Trademark Owners of regulated products must register with Egypt’s General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) by 15th March 2016 to continue to export to Egypt.

The Regulated Product list now includes (but is not limited to): 

• Textiles
• Food
• Electricals 
• Health and Beauty products
• Sanitary ware 
• Toys
• Tableware
• Lighting

GOEIC has also confirmed that a Certificate of Inspection must be issued for all regulated product shipments for Customs clearance at Egyptian Ports and Borders.

Shipments arriving before 16th March without Registration require either a Certificate of Inspection or will be subject to Destination Inspection by GOEIC.

Intertek is approved to issue the Certificate of Inspection for exports to Egypt by GOEIC.
