Intertek provides root cause forensic investigation expertise for industrial welding failures and welding defects. Welding forensic technical capabilities include laboratory facilities, such as Miller 550 amp welding equipment (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW), and a metallurgical laboratory to perform tests on welded material. Our analytical techniques include computer software to perform fatigue, fracture, and stress analysis of welded structures. Weld Procedure Specification Reviews (ASME Section IX and AWS Dl.1) are also available. Intertek can perform Weld Quality Audits and has AWS Certified Welding Inspectors on staff.
