Additives:
A formulator of concentrates of additives and colorants for the plastics industry needed to quickly respond to a customer inquiry with the potential of new business. Expert Services provided the analytical service required to address the issue, enabling the client to meet its customer’s needs and take business advantage of this opportunity.

Regulatory Support:
A producer of organic esters had been successful in developing their organic ester plasticizer business in the US and Europe and wished to enter the Japanese market. Expert Services used their regulatory expertise in Japan to work with the Japanese authorities and obtain the appropriate product notification, allowing the company to market its product in Japan.

Packaging:
A leading manufacturer of plastic packaging and engineering resins needed to validate analytical methodology used in migration tests at the low detection level required to gain FDA clearance for its new resin designed for use in beverage bottles. Expert Services devised and executed a test protocol that resulted in the analytical validation needed to support client’s food contact applications of its new resin.

Polymer for Lenses:
Based on our regulatory knowledge, Expert Services identified the problems of a lense manufacturer and helped the japanese supplier of raw materials sort out their compliance issues. Expert Services gained another important customer and is now registering monomers for this major Japanese supplier in Europe.

Pharmaceutical Industry:
A worldwide rewarded pharmaceutical company was having problems getting an inhaler approved by FDA. Based on our analytical expertise and regulatory knowledge, Expert Services identified the reasons for potential rejection by the FDA. Subsequently, Expert Services has proposed modifications to the additive formulation in the plastic inhaler in order to meet the FDA requirements.

Automotive and Manufacturing:
A leading US auto glass supplier wished to determine if offshore suppliers were conforming to Department of Transportation standards. No external laboratory was able to perform the specific test method required to look at spectral transmittance.Expert Services used its expertise in coatings and analytical research to establish the testing methodology so the test could be run, allowing client to develop the data it needed. According to the client, "Expert Services' testing methodology allowed us to provide credible data to address a competitive situation. Without their expertise and knowledge, we would not be in as strong a position to deal with this business challenge."

Masterbatch Producer

A powder mixture of carrier + additive (AO, anti-block...) combined with a flame retardant (based on Antimony Oxide) produced an explosion while runing through the extruder at a German masterbatch producer.

Expert Service was asked to find the reasons for this accident. A important exothermic signal was measured with the mixture at high temperature and high pressure.

Pigment Fire

A client had suffered a series of fires during storage of pigment in fiberboard drums shortly after oven drying at elevated temperatures. Expert Services highlighted that the current storage containers posed a potential risk. The suggested arrangements of volume versus drying temperature were implemented thereby bringing the client productivity improvement and reduction in costs.
