All substances manufactured or imported into the EU in more than 1T/a, but not subject to the 2010 or 2013 registration deadline, have to be registered by May 31st 2018. Intertek experts expect many more registrations must be performed by this deadline. This means that workload will increase extensively for all stakeholders, especially for SMEs (Small and Medium size Enterprises).
REACH also greatly impacts end product manufacturers, importers and distributors for SVHC (substances of very high concern). Once a substance is added to the SVHC Candidate List, the EU REACH Regulation imposes immediate obligations on manufacturers and importers to declare the substances if present.
Throughout April-June, Intertek experts will be hosting a series of complimentary “lunch and learn” sessions highlighting compliance which will be focused on REACH. These sessions will be held in various locations within the EU.
We are pleased to offer this informal environment where participants can feel free to discuss issues, ask questions, or share concerns with their peers. There is no formal presentation, just an open dialogue, where the exchange of experience and issues is not only encouraged but welcomed.
If you are responsible for helping your company comply with REACH requirements these sessions are for you!
Let’s discuss how to be compliant, and prepare for a dossier; the issues surrounding the time lines for testing; and the impact of non-compliance. We can cover the changes in SDS content, and how to manage compliance throughout the supply chain using a systematic approach to managing hazardous substances in final goods.
Intertek’s experts provide comprehensive regulatory consulting support for developing and implementing worldwide regulatory compliance strategies for new and existing products.
