Abu Dhabi – Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, will deliver two presentations on crucial pipeline issues at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) from November 10-13. The company will also showcase its global technical service capabilities at the largest oil and gas event in the Middle East which is expected to attract thousands of delegates.

Intertek industry professionals and experts will demonstrate how they support the oil and gas industry through exploration and production services, technical inspection, quality assurance, technical staffing, asset integrity management, as well as safety consulting and training.  The presentations will focus on pipeline corrosion management and pipeline integrity assessment, important topics for asset owners and operators.

Corrosion in pipelines and vessels is an increasing feature in production, particularly where assets are ageing or exposed to corrosive gases or liquids.  The early identification of problems is essential in order to mitigate any potential loss of containment of hydrocarbons.  Intertek’s production integrity services combine field sampling and analysis with many years of knowledge and experience to reduce the risk of such occurrences.   In other words, we bring the skills we have in analytical science to bear on our customers’ challenges, whatever and wherever they exist.

With established locations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Intertek is working with local national oil companies to deliver third-party inspection, expediting, quality assurance and asset integrity management services on major projects. In addition to this, Intertek provides similar quality and safety solutions to international engineering companies, engineering procurement construction contractors and local manufacturers and suppliers. The UAE regional offices also extend service support into Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, India, Iraq, Algeria and other countries.

Hussain Al-Atrakchi, Intertek Industry Services, Vice President of MENAWA Region, comments, “We have been participating in ADIPEC for the past few years and it has proven to be a great opportunity to interact with existing and potential clients. We recently established a new laboratory for core analysis in Abu Dhabi and a training center for HSE and technical courses in Dubai, this way we continue to bring value to clients, both locally and globally. Moreover, we are extending our expertise to support the local community by providing testing and verification for food, agriculture, pharmaceutical, electrical and building products. We are continuously striving to serve our customers in the UAE and surrounding countries helping them reduce costs, mitigate risks, promote corporate social responsibility and improve quality through our experience and innovative approach”.
