Seminar: Introduction to Stabilization of Polymers, its Analytics and Special Effect Additives
A one day polymers seminar on March 29, 2012 and located in Basel, Switzerland.
BASF Plastic Additives Group and Intertek Expert Services (both previously known as Ciba) have extensive experience in the stabilization and testing of polymers. The mechanisms of degradation (thermo-oxidation and photo-oxydation) and the way to prevent these degradations will be explained. Practical examples of polymer stabilization in various polymers will be presented. Intertek Expert Services Laboratories has expertise in analyzing additives in polymers, polymers and can run failure analysis projects. This will be presented with practical examples. A more theoretical part regarding the polymer properties and rheology will be covered during the morning session. The final part of this seminar will describe “special effects additives,” including flame retardants, antistatic agents and nucleating agents.

This seminar is intended for an audience of Research and Development specialists and managers, Production Technicians and Engineers and Laboratory Managers in companies that are involved in the plastics industry. This seminar is meant for people who want to learn about stabilization of polymers, polymer additives and analytics.
